I have been interested in my family's
rich German and Dutch heritage from a very young age. Family
reunions always meant a new family book to peruse, looking at all
the information compiled on ancestors from days gone by. I was
fascinated with learning more about them and having a better
understanding of their lives within the context of historical events
unfolding around them.
In 2004, my in-laws celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary. Since my mother-in-law has a strong
interest in her own ancestry, I thought it appropriate to compile a
family history book for her to treasure. Little did I know
that this venture would become the fuel that ignited my passion
toward a new vocation.
My own genealogical research has led to
my desire to help others learn more about their own families.
I was a volunteer for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness from
2005-2007 and have been researching professionally since January of
2007. I offer several
services which can be viewed on the “Research Services” page of this
site.
All of my work is consistent with the standards set forth by the
Board for Certification of Genealogists. In addition, I
subscribe to the Association of Professional Genealogists code of
ethics.
